Description
Value stream analysis is a powerful tool that helps you look strategically at your business processes and quickly identify opportunities for improvement. As with any tool, there are certain requirements for using it to its greatest advantage. Effectively mapping a value stream takes more than knowing the icons, you have to skillfully present the case and level for the map. The more time you spend up front getting ready for the event, the more successful your event is going to be. This presentation is about
- Identifying the customer
- Identifying the big chunks
- Filling in the gaps with the right level value stream map
- Collecting the right data
- Brainstorming the solution(s) to ensure your event is successful.
The speaker will present five components of a successful event, including two case studies that assess different challenges facing an engineered fabrics plant, and the successful approaches that brought solutions. A file of tips and tools to help attendees with their next mapping event will be included with the CD for registrants.
Top Learning Objectives:
- Prepare for a successful event
- Determine just who is the customer
- Move from a high-level start to the right level of detail
- Customize the needed data because not every event is the same
- Keep brainstorming from becoming a whine session
- Conclude the event on time
