My Chapter Is There to Assist Your Chapter
Did you ever hear another chapter officer mention needing contact information for a chapter member? Did you ever want to know how many of your chapter members renewed their membership this month? Would you like to contact chapter members whose memberships have expired but just don’t know where to find contact information? My Chapter is the answer.

My Chapter, the APICS online chapter database management tool, provides designated chapter and district officers with membership data. Chapter presidents and district staff identified in the database have immediate access to member information. Other chapter officers, designated by their chapter president, also can access the membership data.

Through My Chapter, chapter presidents can update their chapter billing address, chapter address, and the chapter profile; view chapter credit information; and manage the chapter board roster.

Designated chapter and district officers can use My Chapter to perform member searches and acquire the following reports:

  • Real-time membership report—View member contact information and customize report requests by member type, certifications, companies, demographics, and more
  • Membership report (end of month)
  • New member report (past 60 days)
  • Rebate and sales report
  • Suspended members report
  • SAMCA data report
  • Web Orders—view chapter orders placed online.

Through the C-BOX, you also have the ability to access the following tutorials that can assist with report generation.

Chapter Development

Submit Your Instructor Development Program Application by December 31
If your instructors have taken the APICS Train-the-Trainer (TTT) and/or the APICS Learning Dynamics for Instructors (LDI) classes, they are encouraged to submit their Instructor Development Program (IDP) application by December 31, 2009.

The “grandfathering” period will end December 31, 2009. During this “grandfathering” period, the program has been accepting any APICS TTT or APICS LDI class that your instructors have taken.

From January 1, 2010, through Dec 31, 2010, all applicants will be required to have taken an APICS TTT and APICS LDI that was taught or co-taught by a Lead or Master in Instructor Training (as designated by the IDP). Beginning January 1, 2011, all applicants will be required to have taken an APICS TTT and APICS LDI that was taught or co-taught by a Master in Instructor Training.

To receive any designation (Associate, Lead, Master), your instructors must have taken the APICS TTT or an equivalent program, as determined by the subcommittee. To receive the Lead or Master designation, your instructors must have taken both the APICS TTT and the APICS LDI or equivalent program(s), as determined by the subcommittee.

If your instructors have taken APICS TTT and/or LDI, now is the time for them to submit their IDP application. It must be received by December 31.

In addition to submitting the application, applicants must download and provide a Partner Endorsement letter. Both documents, and other information about the IDP, can be found here.

If you have questions, contact Bob Collins, APICS director of professional development, at bcollins@apics.org.

Q&A

APICS Individual Membership Options

Q. What are the individual membership options for professionals residing within North America?
A: APICS has several membership options for individuals who reside within North America (the United States, Canada, and Mexico).

Professional members account for nearly three-quarters of the APICS membership. Chapter affiliation is designated by the individual. An individual who does not designate a chapter affiliation is placed in the closest chapter using the chapter data reported. Professional members are billed for the full association dues, which include local chapter dues.

Honorary chapter members are designated at the request of a chapter, typically for past chapter presidents, local college libraries, retired long-time chapter members, or student chapter academic advisors. Honorary membership privileges are identical to those for professional members. Honorary memberships are billed for the association’s portion of the dues.

Honorary members are nominated via a petition process spearheaded by APICS members and approved by the APICS Board of Directors. This membership is for individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the association, profession, or industry. No association/chapter dues apply.

Lifetime members are past international presidents or chairs of the board of directors of APICS. Once designated, these memberships are never invoiced. No association/chapter dues apply.

Q: What are the membership options for those residing outside of North America?
A: APICS has three membership options for individuals who reside outside of North America (United States, Canada and Mexico).

International members are professional members who reside outside of North America and who are not affiliated with an APICS International Associate. International memberships are billed for the full association dues.

International Associate members are professional members who reside outside of North America and belong to one of the growing network of APICS International Associates located in more than 28 countries in six regions worldwide. Association dues are billed to and paid by the international associate organization.

International professional e-members are professional members who reside outside of North America. E-members receive electronic access to member benefits (including APICS magazine, APICS Dictionary, APICS OMBOK Framework, e-newsletters, and more). E-members who have International Associates in their countries also will benefit from joint membership with the local organization.
